After talking with my CT, I will be teaching The Giver for my thematic unit. The overall theme that the students explore this year is odyssey, and within that theme is smaller ones that deal with odyssey. The Giver deals with "risking it all" and this is the smaller theme that I will be dealing with while teaching this book.
